INTRODUCING DAILY DOG WISDOM

Welcome to the first installment of Daily Dog Wisdom. Contrary to the name, these will happen when they happen, not necessarily daily. Whether or not I can post them that often, rest assured the animals are teaching us every single day.

Today's lesson is about perspective. This morning one of my favorite professors showed me how he looked at his behavior very differently than I did. I saw him digging a hole where I'd rather he not dig. He saw his attention to the chipmunk who just dove down this hole as a service and an important job that he really MUST take care of.

It was a great reminder that we all see things from different angles. The reasons we would or would not do something could be totally different than how someone else would feel about the very same thing. And that being open to shifting our perspective can change the feelings around a behavior or event. It can bring about understanding and maybe even compassion for what someone else is going through.

I started out feeling annoyed about the digging. Two minutes later I realized what was going on and felt respect for his desire to take care of business, and for doing what is totally natural to who he is. This lesson in perspective shifted the way I was feeling and allowed me to keep moving through the day with the energy that I really want to put out into the world - respect, understanding and even appreciation.

Ahhh....that feels good! Have a fantastic day and keep watching for the wisdom of the animals in your life! ❤️
